SPRING

 

SPRING BREAK DAY CAMP (Ages 5-13)

at Hagan Community Center
Fee: $30/day or $125/week
It’s time to take a break from school! Put a new SPRING in your step by joining us for a week of fun and games with a variety of hands-on activities and projects. Play for one day or the entire week!

ENGINEERING FUNdamentals - NEW! (Ages 5-11)

at Hagan Community Center
Fee: $168
With Lynda Weiss. Power up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and LEGO®! Kids apply real world physics and engineering concepts through fun LEGO® projects designed by engineers. Instructors guide students as they design and build and provide inspiration for students to take their creations further.

POP-UP SCIENCE CAMP - NEW! (Ages 5-11)

at White Rock Community Clubhouse
Fee: $25/day or $80/week
With the Sacramento Children's Museum. Come explore the wonderful world of science! Learn about a variety of science topics through observation, investigation, and conduction of experiments.

CAMP CORDOVA (Ages 5-11)

at Hagan Community Center & Hagan Community Park
Camp Hours: 9AM-4PM (extended hours available)
Fee: $115*/week plus $10 Camper T-Shirt (required for all fieldtrips)
Fee: *Week 5 $90/week due to shortened week plus $10 Camper T-Shirt (required for all fieldtrips)
CRPD’s Camp Cordova is the perfect way for children ages 5-11 to spend their summer vacation. Each week is a different theme with outdoor adventures and fieldtrips every Thursday. Children will have a great time while socializing with other campers their age during free play time, crafts, games and other hands on activities. No two days are ever the same! Be sure to sign up today to reserve your child’s space for a summer of outdoor education and entertainment. *Fieldtrip locations subject to change.
Camp Cordova campers and parents can take advantage of the morning and/or afternoon extended hours. Morning Extended Hours run 7AM-9AM for $15 per week. Afternoon Extended Hours run 4PM-6PM for $15 per week. Participant must be registered for the corresponding week of Camp Cordova to take advantage of Extended Hours.

Week 3: Monday - Friday, 6/16-6/20 • Hollywood Week • Actors, stuntmen, and rockstars-we all have a little Hollywood in us. Best dressed celebrity costume contest at the end of the week. • Fieldtrip-Century 14 Folsom (Iron Point) Movie Theater

Week 4: Monday - Friday, 6/23-6/27 • Cordova Pirates • Arg! Let’s be pirates. Treasure hunting will keep campers busy as they search for “gold”. • Fieldtrip-Golfland Sunsplash (Roseville)

Week 5: Monday - Friday, 6/30-7/3 • Animal Planet • Ferocious games and furry crafts take over as we explore nature and animal instincts. • Fieldtrip-The Sacramento Zoo

Week 6: Monday - Friday, 7/7-7/11 • Ocean’s Wild • Deep sea divers will explore everything under the water with crafts, activities, games and more. • Fieldtrip-Folsom Aquatics Center

Week 7: Monday - Friday, 7/14-7/18 • Extreme Survivor • Campers will test their limits with challenges, eating contests, races, obstacle courses and chances to win prizes. • Fieldtrip-John’s Incredible Pizza

Week 8: Monday - Friday, 7/21-7/25 • Beach Party Luau • Soak up the sun as you enjoy a week of beach boogie fun and exploration of island living. • Fieldtrip-Raging Waters (Sacramento)

Week 9: Monday - Friday, 7/28-8/1 • Sports Mania • Campers explore the sports world-old, new, weird and professional. Discover games of the past and create new games for the future. • Fieldtrip-River Cats Game-Raley Field

Week 10: Monday - Friday, 8/4-8/8 • Cordova’s Got Talent • Show off your talent while rehearsing a show for parents performed at the end of the week. Parents and family invited! • Fieldtrip-BBQ and inflatable fun

TEENS IN THE L.E.A.D. (Ages 5-11)

at the H.Y.D.E. Out at Hagan Community Center
Camp Hours: 8AM-5PM

CRPD’s Teens in the L.E.A.D. (Leadership, Education, Adventure, & Development) is a program for teens ages 12-15 who are looking to have fun, meet new friends and explore life skills. Each week includes team building and leadership activities, interactive games, swimming, hands-on activities, bike rides and exploration, cooking projects and fieldtrips to build confidence, self-esteem, life skills all while having fun. Bicycles and helmets will be provided. *Fieldtrip locations subject to change.

Week 4: Monday - Friday, 7/7-7/11 • Perseverance • Gain an understanding of persistence, integrity and the qualities necessary to get through any situation. • Fieldtrip-Alcatraz • Cooking Project-Solar Oven S’Mores

Week 5: Monday - Friday, 7/14-7/18 • Ladies and Gentlemen • Teens will learn the importance of acting with courtesy using manners and chivalry. • Fieldtrip-California State Fair Tour of the State and Luncheon at the Capitol

Week 6: Monday - Friday, 7/21-7/25 • Leaders • What is it to be a leader? Teens will explore this questions and practice public speaking and debate while presenting information about a historical or modern day leader of their choosing. • Fieldtrip-Raging Waters (Sacramento) • Cooking Project-Homemade Pizza

Week 7: Monday - Friday, 7/28-8/1 • Amusement Parks • While working together, teens will research, design and build their own amusement park. • Fieldtrip-River Cats Game-Raley Field and John’s Incredible Pizza

ART STUDIO CAMP - NEW! (Ages 5-11)

at Hagan Community Center
Fee: $25/day or $100/week
With Sacramento Children's Museum. This camp will introduce children to different art materials and techniques. A wide range of art styles will be covered, from Australian Aboriginal Dot Painting to Eco Art made from recycled materials.

STORY FACTORY CAMP - NEW! (Ages 5-11)

at Hagan Community Center
Fee: $25/day or $100/week
With Sacramento Children's Museum. Get ready for a reading adventure filled with stories, games, and crafts! Each day of this camp will feature a book-related theme. Participants will write and illustrate their own book.

THEATER CAMP (Ages 5-12)

at Hagan Community Center
Fee: $90/week ($10 craft fee due to instructor)
With Come Dance with Me. Children will explore the thrilling art of theater and acting. Theater and staging techniques will be included in this camp. The session will end with a performance for friends and family!

KEEP SKATING BRO! SKATEBOARD CAMP - NEW! (Ages 6-12)

at Mather Sports Center Skate Park
Fee: $150/session
Instructors will mold skating ability, and supply confidence in a fun environment. Helmet, elbow and knee pads, lunch, water, and skateboard are all required for this camp.

FRESHi MEDIA CAMPS - NEW! Multiple camps to choose from!

Freshi Media is a unique educational company that delivers programming in film making, game design and stop motion animation. All camps are with Tyler Shoemaker and Mike Korich.

STOP MOTION ANIMATION CAMP (Ages 7-12)

at Hagan Community Center
Fee: $182/week
Work with your favorite toys to create fun and original animations! Students work together to create an original story and then bring their story to life through Stop Motion animation.

BEGINNING VIDEO GAME DESIGN CAMP (Ages 7-12)

Fee: $145/week
Participants work in pairs to conceive, design, and build their own original computer game. Students use creative, critical thinking and teamwork skills.

FILM MAKING: FROM SCRIPT TO PREMIERE (Ages 7-12)

Fee: $182/week
Learn the secrets of film making in a fun, relaxed, and engaging atmosphere! Students learn about the entire filmmaking process along with skills in production, direction, story development, and acting.

ANIMATION CREATORS: COMPUTER ANIMATION (Ages 8-13)

Fee: $182/week
Participants learn computer drawing and digitally animated character interaction skills. Students work in groups to create character based animations.

YOUNG CREATORS: SKETCH COMEDY WORKSHOP (Ages 9-14)

Fee: $182/week
Learn to write, film, and edit specifically for comedic digital shorts and viral style comedy videos. Using comedic techniques and funny themes, students will finish a full comedic digital short film.

BEGINNING TO ADVANCED VIDEO GAME DESIGN (Ages 8-13)

Take the basics of video game design to the next level. Participants work in pairs to conceive, design, and build their own original computer game.

Flag Football is a fun and safe introduction to “America’s Game”. Learn the fundamentals of passing, rushing, receiving and defense along with the rules, strategy and play-calls of the game.

SKYHAWKS MINI-HAWK CAMP (Ages 4-12)

at Mather Sports Center North Soccer Field
Fee: $129/session
Soccer, Baseball and Basketball. This multi-sport program was developed to give youth a positive first step into athletics. Baseball, basketball and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment filled with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun!

Kickball, Dodgeball, Ultimate Frisbee and Capture the Flag. We’ve taken your favorite games from the playground and combined them into an action packed camp! Each day young athletes play variations of kickball, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee and capture the flag.

SKYHAWKS VOLLEYBALL CAMP (Ages 6-12)

at Mather Sports Center Gymnasium
Fee: $129/week
Fundamental skills are taught through game-speed drills and daily scrimmages focused on passing, setting, hitting, and serving. This co-ed program is designed for the beginning and intermediate player.

SKYHAWKS SUMMER DODGEBALL LEAGUE (Ages 5-14)

at Mather Sports Center North Gymnasium
Fee: $59/session
Dip, dive, duck, dodge! This dodgeball league allows kids of all abilities to participate in friendly competition, while gaining skills, passion and confidence necessary to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
