The Blue Marlins and the Cordettes are recreational swim teams that compete with other Sacramento area teams during the summer. The teams are open to boys and girls, beginners as well as experienced swimmers, between the ages of 5 and 18.
Both teams require that all new swimmers be able to swim at least 10 yards, unassisted on their first day of practice (April 28). Throughout the season of May, June and July, the coaching staff stresses participation and skill development. The practices are after school until summer vacation, when they are in the morning.
Both teams have active parent clubs to benefit the swimmers and to organize fund raisers, social events and meet volunteers. The volunteer requirements, practice times, meet information and season schedule are printed in the team handbook. For more information you can contact us at 362-1841 or check out the teams' websites.
This year we will open online registration for those making full payments. If you want to set up a plan for partial payments, you will need to come into the District office or see us at the Spring Extravaganza on Saturday, March 22 or at the April Pools Day event on Saturday, April 12 from 10 am - 12 noon on both days. At both events we will have coaches and Parent Board members on hand to answer questions, take your registration and new swimmers can get in the pool to show the coaches that you can swim 10 yards unassisted.
All swimmers must have a signed waiver and registration/information form on file in the District office. These forms will be available on this page along with the Team Handbooks.
The Cordova Cordettes are a synchronized swim team. Synchronized swimming is also known as water ballet. This is an Olympic sport that combines swimming and dance in the water, both at the surface and under the water. Swimmers compete in individual figures and group routines. The routines are done to music and for the Aqua Show and Championship meet, they wear costumes. The Cordettes have their meets on Wednesday evenings. The Championship Meet is held on July 19 & 20. Only $115 per swimmer for the season of May-July!
Check them out on their website: Cordettes
CRPD is offering additional training for both new and returning synchronized swimmers. Our award winning coaches will be offering clinics on the basics of synchronized swimming, including preseason conditioning, in the evenings of March and April. We will also have figure clinics on Saturdays in March and April, to teach and refine the figures before the start of teh season.
